$WHACKD - BRITBONGLOGPOST

I've allowed myself to get into a couple Reddit debates recently (I know, I have much better things to do), and I noticed a couple occasions where the user seemed like a bot, and when I ended up pressing them on specifics in a debate, they quickly deleted their whole account.

To me, it seems odd to delete your account just because of an online conversation. It seems like deleting the account would be the way to cover any tracks and prevent any unwanted attention coming your way.

But, this is just a theory. Anybody else experience something similar? And, have any of you noticed other possible indicators of bots?
